Tickets & Prices
Yes ! Booking is essential as we only have a limited amount of space for cars.
We will have a variety of pumpkins and squashes (£2 – £12) – all are edible!
A bit of rain never stops us enjoying ourselves at Otto’s. We will remain open in most cases so bring appropriate clothing and footwear.
We do not offer refunds or exchanges outside of our usual policy unless we have to close.
Tickets will only be refunded if we have to close due to bad weather and unsafe conditions.
We know however that sometimes life gets in the way of plans, so we do offer an exchange for another slot if you contact us here up to 48 hours before your booked visit.
The Facilities
We will have catering onsite thanks to My Little Drinks Van. Coffee, Tea, cakes as well as toasties.
You are also very welcome to bring a picnic and enjoy it in the field.
We have a Portaloo for emergencies. The pumpkin patch is a field so facilities are basic, with no running water or electricity.
The Farm
Car
The postcode for the farm is CM77 8DL.
Rail
Braintree Freeport station is a 15 minute walk from the farm, however take care as the last 200m there are busy road crossings with no provision for pedestrians.
Bus
The number 38 linking Halsted, Braintree and Witham passes close by the farm. The bus stop is called esxdwatj, opposite Fowler’s Farm. Care must be taken as the last 100m involves a busy road crossing with no provision for pedestrians.
Friendly dogs on leads are welcome. Please clear up after your dog.
The main paths will be mostly mud free (along as there isn’t too much rain!)
Off the paths it will be muddier and more uneven.
If unsure bring an old pair of shoes that you don’t mind getting muddy.
Other
Some say he was the person who brought pumpkins to Europe. Others say he started the world’s first pumpkin patch. To us though Otto is the man behind all the magic…
We love to have organised groups. Please contact us beforehand though so we can make sure there is enough space on site!
The ground is uneven in places, however please contact us beforehand if you are concerned.

You can tell it's created with love and not just with profit in mind. They're always accommodating to my son with special needs, and we love the range of pumpkins and things to do. And great pumpkinsTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.Hannah Gullen30/10/2023Absolutely the most brilliant pumpkin picking experience we have ever been to as a family bear in mind that this is our 2nd time at Otto’s, everyone was so polite and nothing was to much trouble. Games and trails set out for children it was a blast. It wasn’t just about pumpkins and Halloween but also about how to cook with the produce and what the flavoured squash or pumpkin best go with, lots of knowledgeable people and information given too. Can’t wait to come along next year. Kind regards Gullen-Matthews Family
